On Monday we decided to get out of the city and go for a drive. Josh has been wanting to see Capone's grave since he moved here. I haven't been since I was young so it was something new for both of us.
And then we found a forest preserve and went for a walk around the lake, nice to get out of the city and see some nature.

Week 7 (part 3)
On Saturday we went to Second City, a first time for Josh. Great show, lots of laughing and we can't wait to go back.
Week 7 (Part 2)
On Friday we went to Japonais for Restaurant Week, it was a first time for both of us and the food was great!
The first picture is an appetizer called "Hot Rock". They bring out raw pieces of meat and VERY hot rock and you cook your meat on the rock, very cool!

Apparently after eating this we were too distracted by the food and forgot to take more pictures...opps
Week 6
Josh and I might have a slight addiction to Groupons...and by slight I mean we definitely need a support group. On week 6 we had a Groupon filled weekend!
We had a Groupon for a new wine bar in the loop called Rittergut Wine Bar and had a flight of wine and some cheese, the perfect dinner.
On Saturday we used our Groupons for the Chicago Auto Show. Here were some of our favorite cars...
On Sunday we watched this little beauty get Baptized (no Groupon required)

Week 5
This week we decided to break out all those awesome kitchen appliances we got as wedding gifts and try some new recipes.
We made all this food for the big game, there were only 3 of us, clearly we made WAY too much. For appetizers we made Cauliflower and Feta Dip and Jalapeno hummus.
For dinner we made Bourbon Chicken and Asian Style Green Beans.

Week 4
On Saturday we walked over to the library to see if they had any museum passes. We were super excited to see they had the Shedd Aquarium pass, but the guy in front of us got it...lame. On the way home we passed Branko's Sandwich shop. We have walked past this place a thousand times but have never gone in.
The food was good, very traditional Italian sub, but we will definitely go back just to see the lady that works there. The shop has been there since 1976, and its family owned. The lady behind the counter (I like to think he name is Rose) asked if we lived in the area and told us to come back anytime, she is there 90 hours a week. As we were leaving she said if we ever need a cup of sugar to come by. So sweet!
